Breastfeeding Pillow
Looking for a breastfeeding pillow to help with latch and position? When I was breastfeeding my first child, some 10 years ago (gasp), there was one pillow, The Boppy. Now the market has many choices.I will review the 3 pillows that I see the best success with in my lactation practice.
My Brest Friend
My Brest Friend pillowProduct Description:My Brest Friend Pillow secures to your body helping mom & baby maintain positioning and latch-on. Back rest encourages good posture and prevents sore back & neck. Firm, flat cushion keeps baby from rolling. 100% cotton cover is machine washable. Fits up to 44" waist. My review: My favorite nursing pillow for singletons (not multiples), it works well and stays put. The only problem I have ever seen with this pillow is for mommies with a larger waistline.
Boppy
The Boppy pillow:Product Description: Boppy Bare Naked Voted the #1 baby product in America five years in a row, the Boppy Bare Naked will give your tired arms and neck a rest. Made for Everyone Big or small, moms or dads, everyone can use the Boppy Bare Naked while feeding baby. This award-winning pillow places the user in an ergonomically correct position reducing stress to the body. The new Miracle Middle panel stretches the width of the pillow to accomodate all sizes, while still keeping its shape throughout! My review: Still the best seller but not my favorite, although it works well for most, I personally found it to rigid for my taste.
